Hi, I’m Shawn – veteran, copywriting strategist, and your voice in the marketplace.
I help small businesses find the right words to attract clients, build trust, and amplify their brand. My journey to copywriting is anything but ordinary, and truthfully? I’m glad for the path less travelled.

I’m new to copywriting. But I’m not new to life. And along the way, I’ve strung together a word or two worth reading.
My first 25 years I spent pounding the sand as an Army logistics officer. Before Amazon launched Prime in 2005, I was leading teams figuring out how to run critical supply chain operations with limited resources and even less time. Important stuff too. Such as delivering beans, bullets, and of course, toilet paper to 50 soldiers at a 10-digit grid coordinate. Uphill. In the snow. Both ways.
The Army ingrained in my DNA that mission planning isn’t just about defining what winning looks like—it’s about moving mountains to turn your commander’s vision into reality. Because people depend on you.
After the military, reality ran over me like a 70-ton M1 Abrams tank. A three-year tenure as an outreach pastor at muti-campus church ended abruptly due to budget cuts (spoiler alert: marketing is always the chopped first when budgets tighten). Since then, I’ve subbed for kindergarteners, worked as a project manager at a small but mighty B2B Point of Sale software-development company, and recently, launched my solopreneur venture, Kenly Copy.
Here’s some more reality: large, complex global organizations like the military, private sector businesses, schools, and nonprofits share this bottom line: Their success (and your success) is defined by improving people’s wellbeing. Or, in simpler terms, making the world a better place.
